How we work
Survey first. Always.
A loft ladder quote given without seeing the hatch is a guess, and the person who pays for a wrong guess is the homeowner. We measure the opening, the ceiling height, the joists and the swing space before we specify anything — then the figure we give you is the figure you pay.
We measure before we specify
Opening size, floor-to-ceiling height, joist positions and swing space decide which ladder is right. Nothing is ordered before that is known.
Fixed price, in writing
Extras are identified at the survey and priced separately before you agree, never added once the job has started.
Specified to standard
Ladders are specified to BS EN 14975, with a minimum 150kg tread load.
Honest about what you need
If a fire-rated hatch or joist work is required, we tell you before we start. If a repair will do, we say so.
We leave it clean
Dust is managed, the area is sheeted, and the waste leaves with us.
Guaranteed
12-month workmanship guarantee, plus the manufacturer's warranty on the ladder and hatch supplied.
What we don't do
Where we stop
Being clear about this saves everyone a wasted visit.
- We are not a loft conversion company. A retractable ladder is not a substitute for a Building Regulations staircase into a habitable room.
- We do not carry out structural roof repairs.
- Flats, listed buildings and rented property may need written permission from the freeholder or landlord before we can start.
- Electrical work beyond basic associated items is outside a standard loft ladder installation.
